Disturbing long-term accutane results…

“Why accutane makes your acne worse after the drug wares off”

Are you looking for accutane results? Want the truth about the long-term effects of accutane? Then you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve researched accutane to death and in this report you will discover the devastating long-term results of accutane use. Why in my opinion accutane makes acne worse once the drug wares off…and how to stop it from happening to you.

Why accutane makes acne WORSE long-term

While the makers of accutane don’t fully understand how it works, here’s what I think is going on (let me repeat I’m not a doctor and this is only my opinion)….

Accutane is a drug that actually damages your skins sebum glands so they can’t work very well at producing the necessary skin oil. And no doubt about it…damaging your skin’s oil glands in this way surely does stop acne…for the short-term…

But at a HUGE long-term cost!

Not only does accutane damage your skins ability to produce sebum, it also severely damages your liver.

In fact, it’s so damaging to your liver that nearly every dermatologist will require continual liver enzyme testing while on the prescription. This is to make sure the drug isn’t damaging the liver so much that you die. They can’t have that happening…you would no longer be a customer ;-)

But here’s the rub..

Your liver function is EXTREMELY important for long-term acne-free skin. To understand why, please checkout my surprising report on… The TRUE Cause of Acne.

If you damage your liver you hinder you’re liver’s ability to “deactivate” and “clear” excess and “used” hormones from your system.

Let me explain…

Think of your liver as a machine inside you that grabs excess and used hormones from your blood. Once it grabs them it “deactivates” them by adding another piece to them. This makes the hormone not work anymore.

Then it sends them out of your system. So you can see why your liver function is so important for hormonal balance…which is so important for long-term acne-free skin.

Well, taking accutane is like pouring glue in the cogs of your “liver machine”.

Doing that slows it way down. This causes all those extra hormones to build up in your blood. But you don’t notice because your skin’s oil glands are so severely damaged by accutane they just don’t respond to the hormones by producing oil.

Then what can happen when accutane wares off?

Well, your skins oil glands recover from the damage. But you still have all these extra hormones in your blood because your liver isn’t working very well…

Making your acne FLARE like CRAZY

This is why so many people report their acne coming back worse after the drug wares off. The only exceptions seems to be if the person has past the time of puberty when the hormonal burden on the liver is significantly reduced.

So you can see why the long-term results of accutane makes acne worse in so many cases.

Accutane is NOT the solution

Damaging your skin so that it can’t produce skin oil is not the answer.

There is only one way to enjoy lasting acne-free skin. And that is to correct at the deepest level the INTERNAL problem that is causing your hormones to get out of balance to start with.

And no acne drug can do that!

There’s only one path I’ve found in over a decade of research that fixes this deep internal problem that’s causing your acne. Using this ground breaking program I cured my severe acne without suffering from the damaging accutane results.

Want to know how I did it? Take the Acne Cure E-Tutorial to discover how to get accutane results without accutane side-effects.

i am currently using accutane and am on my third month. i have seen significant results in my skin. my pores have shrank and my skin is smoother. acne is basically gone. i have two friends that took the medicine a few years ago and their skin was worse than mine started out to be. its been years and their skin looks like porcelain still. i believe this is an amazing drug for people who have severe acne, not just for someone with a few breakouts because of the symptoms and side effects. it is also very expensive but very worth it
    ..just a little feedback

No doubt it can work. But at what cost? And is it really correcting the internal cause of acne. No it is not. Its damaging the body (that’s why it has such a powerful effect). You’ll have to decide if the long-term damage to your body is worth it. Me, hell no. It’s not worth it. Acne is only an external sign to an internal problem. Covering up the symptoms with drugs is not fixing that problem.

I am on my fifth month of accutane and have seen improvement on my skin. The major side effect for me is the skin tone. Though I wear a sunscreen everyday I get two toned I have dark patches on my face. Some days I am dark, some days I am my usual colour. It really helps with acne though because I had bad breakouts that really dealt with my self esteem

  4. admin says:

There is no doubt it works. However, the reality it is not addressing the underlying cause of acne. Only the symptoms. And the bad news is some of the side effects don’t show up for years (such as arthritis or hair loss).

Don’t you think its a better idea to appreciate the message acne is sending you? And rather then cover it over with drugs, actually fix the underlying cause?

Idk, I am currently on the medication and my skin is finally looking good but there is a problem. A pretty signicant problem, I have been having liver pain for the last week and a half. The blood tests looked good but I don’t know if that tells me everything. I actually pretty worried about my liver and am probably gonna stop taking the medicine. The skin looks great but I don’t think it has been worth it

  6. Mila says:

This website’s assertions are irresponsible. Cystic acne is devastating and Accutane is a miracle drug.

Some acne is hormonal in which case a patient may need to consider treatment to reduce androgens such as spironolactone or one of the birth control pills that may help.

I never found anything “natural” that helped my acne. I’m 48 now and healthy and thank god and researchers for Accutane and spironolactone and Demulen.

  7. admin says:

I’m glad it worked for you. I have no argument that it doesn’t work. But I would suggest to you the cost is too great.

Acne is only an external sign to a larger internal problem. Covering it up with drugs is not addressing the true cause. You never suffered acne because of an accutane deficiency.

I’m sorry you never found a “natural” cure that helped you. That sure as hell doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In fact, working WITH your body is the only way to really address the core cause of acne. Call it “natural” or whatever you want.

  8. ft says:

“So you can see why the long-term results of accutane makes acne worse in so many cases.” I could not just read this and not reply! When you have bad cystic acne, nothing else will work!
Cystic acne runs in my family. My sister, a first cousin and I all took accutane in the 80′s and one dose cured us. My only regert is that I did not take it earlier and avoid some scarring. We had monthly blood tests and never had negative results, any liver damage, nor any health problems later. My daughter is at the point where she will need accutane very soon. I have no reservations with giving her this drug. I am thankful it exists and she does not have to endure all that comes with severe cystic acne.

  9. admin says:

To think acne is a genetic problem is the height of ignorance. You might want to do review a little of Bruce Lipton’s research on the topic.

Blaming it on genetics is the biggest cop-out in the world. I my sound harsh to say that but I call it as I see it. In my world, putting your daughter at risk of crippling arthritis to cover up a deeper internal problem is well, something you might want to step back and really think about. Do you really think your daughter is suffering a accutane deficiency? Sorry to sound harsh, but I have little patience for this kind of thinking.

  10. ab says:

What is this website!!?? i am a doctor and 80 % of what you are saying is wrong and is only worrying people for no reason. I cannot believe such information can be published on the internet for everyone to read. This is outrageous. Arthritis IS NOT a side effect of accutane even many years after the treatment. ” a deeper internal problem” : what are you talking about. And saying accutane is a drug that covers up acne , no it is a really effective treatment and IT IS safe just so you know ”admin”. And for your information acne IS OFTEN A GENETIC PROBLEM!!!!! So before publishing things like on the internet think about it twice. I think it is really disrespectful to people who are misinformed by wannabe doctors like you.

  11. admin says:

Well Doc you might want to review a little more thoroughly Roche’s own disclosures about accutane. Crippling arthritis IS a side effect.

As for genetics… tell me Doc, why then does acne come and go? And why then do some in the same family not suffer while others do not? Why can one identical twin suffer from acne while the other does not?

Blaming it on genetics is extraordinarily misguided and based in ignorance about what really causes genes to express themselves. The genetic paradigm is crumbling more and more each day… as it should. Be cause it is misleading many well-meaning Docs. You might want to look into cellular biologist Bruce Lipton’s work.

  12. JK says:

it’s true that once you’re off accutane your acne comes back. It makes sense, because once you’re off the drug your body is bound to get back into balance. It is a short term solution and works wonders for the duration of its usage, but that doesn’t mean that you should be on it for months and years. Experienced doctors know that the limit is 4 months. Taking it for longer periods of time can be dangerous to your body. All those side effects tell you something; it messes with your system and there’s nothing natural about that.

  13. Stacey says:

I used accutane for 6 months to treat my bad acne and it started by bringing it out at its worst and then dried it out. sure you get dry skin and lips but its worth it in the long run,…its been 6 years now and my face is always clear and has been ever since i’ve used it and i don’t use any other acne cleaners nor have i ever since using accutane. i just use a light facial wash before bed and i have no acne anymore! i never did experience any side effects although i was sensitive to the sun, ? hope this helps anyone..you rarely see the positive side sometimes..it was different in my case

  14. marc. says:

sure, accutane can be expensive for some people. But I get a 3 month course for a little over $7 australian dollars, and i would swear by it. I don’t care if it was $1 or $1000, better than spending my money on a bunch of nature crap that doesn’t do anything. and if you think accutane is so bad, i’d like to see you create a drug that works half as well.

  15. admin says:

Already have… and that’s called working with your body to correct the internal cause of acne.

  16. marc. says:

talk is nothing. we want results, so until you come up with a natural tablet or course that works, people will continue to take accutane.

  17. admin says:

Review the site. I cured my severe acne WITHOUT accutane.

The only way to do that is working WITH your body, not poisoning it… Like accutane does.

  18. brian says:

I been on acutane for 5 months. works great, besides i get heat rashes, because i tan, then i run, my body cant sweat, so it produces bubbles of sweat all over……just dont workout or tan and ur good

  19. Larysa says:

I took accutane about 7 years ago, it worked great cleared up my skin and everything. Now I am struggling with dry skin patches. I have some on my hands that get so dry they bleed. Few on my legs that just do not look good. Normally I did not even put body lotion on, but now I have to reaply like crazy.

  20. cs says:

from my experiences, accutane has had no effect on my liver, so don’t completely write off accutane. The only problems i have faced are dry skin and lips.

  21. ee says:

i agree with admin my acne came back, an now i suffer from welts an rashes on regular basis from this horrible drug. i knew this drug was bad right after my ears started ringing an started to feel confused an dizzy an i stopped after three months use.

  22. Samantha says:

I currently have been on Accutane for about 2 weeks now and am experiencing really dry/ cracked lips. I went to the dermotologist today and she pricked “problem spots” on my face with a needle to get all the pus out. I have these little white bumps that look like milk deposits but are indeed filled with white pus. I have tried EVERYTHING and thought this was my last option. I’m just curious to know how long before I start seeing results. Everything else I’ve used has “guaranteed results”, but I’ve seen nothing. I’m just skeptical. On the plus side, I’ve seen it work on people. Having acne makes a persons self confidence/ esteem go down. I want to be able to not always have to cover my face in makeup and just have a nice even skin tone.

  23. L.W. says:

I suffered severe acne which left my face scarred. I took Accutane and although my skin was much worse for the first bit, it did clear up and get better. However, YEARS later- I am having internal problems. I bleed every time I try and run. My insides are always inflammed and tender. I had no idea that Accutane could cause such internal damage. I never would have taken it if I had known what I would be going through now.

  24. t.s. says:

I was 15 when i began accutane treatment that lasted 6 months. I did not have nodular acne, but acne that just would not go away no matter my dermatologist would prescribe for me. The stuff did its job, for sure, but my thick, full hair became thin and brittle (and 10 years later, it has not improved much), my face would basically peel off entirely every afternoon, I had severe muscle pain, my lips would crack and bleed, etc etc…But those effects pale in comparison to the symptoms it has caused me beginning 7 years later which doctors are still trying to figure out how to fix. Everything stemming from stomach/bowl issues that, it has been suggested, are directly related to my accutane usage as a teenager. And people, I still get zits here and there…accutane does not get rid of acne forever and you STILL have to take good care of your face. What’s worked for me over the years is to avoid dairy and GLUTEN, wash my skin with natural products and avoid touching my face with my hands. If I could go back in time, I would gladly suffer a little more indignity while walking around with acne to have my health back now. Do not take Accutane! It is not worth it!

  25. Anonymous says:

I really do not know what to believe about this drug. Everywhere i turnn people are saying different things. This is driving me crazy.

  26. Elizabeth says:

I’m only 13 and I have acne literally EVERYWHERE! My parents want me to take accutane but I think I’m too young to damage my skin like that. Also, my mother took it and she had a SEVERE allergic reaction to the steroids the hospital gave her while she was pregnant with me, and lost my sister in the process. ( yes I was a twin) I don’t know what to do- I’m scared but I want it GONE without accutane. Can anyone help me?????

  27. Elizabeth says:

ab, your an idiotic fag. Read my comment then we can argue about the side effects. I LOST MY IDENTICAL TWIN because of accutane. So go crawl in a hole and die!!!! >:(

  28. Rohan says:

With my due respect, this is just a wague logic to put on. though cases of liver damage have been observed but that’s when it is taken without prescription and not under a dermotologist’s obeservation. Isotretnoin is one of the best researches of the last 2 decades, like any other allopathic medicin it does have some short term side effects, but guys, nothing is better than the feeling u get when u get up one morning without those bloody frustrating acne….

  29. Alicia says:

I agree 100% that accutane is bad news, I’m busy studying skin and eye treatment for beauty therapy and there is so much side effects it is not worth it to take accutane. My brother was on it for 3months, he had a nice tanned skin tone and accutane stopped melanin production when he got in the sun he was red as a tamato (not normal for him) when he used aquas cream he started bleeding small dots so I made my parents take him off it because it’s crap!!!! His skin is fine because he uses Dermalogica and it’s a brilliant product. So it’s been month and his skin actualy looks better now. Then my boyfriend was on accutane and he was a straight A student in school and his marks went down drasticlly, he was depressed and a year before he went on his friend commited suiecide (while he was on accutane) so I would advise no one to go on accutane, sure it has an instant effect but if you have a problem get the right product and be patients.

  30. Larry says:

I was an accutane ginipig back in approx. 1981. I had severe acne on my face, chest, back, behind my ears , arms etc. My treatment was for 4 months. It was completely gone. I am now 48 and for the most part the acne is still gone. This drug should not be given to people without severe acne period.

  31. Larry says:

At age 18 i wanted to commit suicide my acne was so bad. I had no choice to take it. The acne started my depression not the accutane. Yes , for those 4 experimental months my lips especially were extremely dry. Very hard drug to take. But now i realize it probably saved my life!!!

  32. Anonymous says:

acne causes depression not Accutane. Accutane works like a machine. just go for regular check-ups

  33. Anonymous says:

My brother died from taking acctuane.. And that was with the monthly checkups. I would never take it. You might as well go to a chemical plant and eat all their toxic waste. It would probably be safer and work better than accutane.

And as for “admin”. Your right a lot of people get acne because they are unhealthy or things like that. But not everyone. Some people ‘naturally’ have acne.

  34. Kurt says:

Heres the thing you need to know about doctors. They are taught everything they know basically BY THE DRUG COMPANIES. And the pharmaceutical industry only cares about money. Obviously a doctor is going to say accutane is ok. But doctors dont know anything real about accutane. Sure the study done by the drug companies determines there is a “low risk”. Even if the risk is “low”, its probably relatively high. Id feel safer doing street drugs than most drugs a doctor would subscribe to be. Its bullshit.

I dont believe in doctors for anything other than life threatening conditions and surgery. For everything else they are simply the drug companies sales people. That said, i agree accutane is good for very severe cases. But thats it.

  35. hh says:

yea.. my brother died from accutane, even while going to the monthly checkups. Our family got rich cuz of it. But they cant bring back my brother.

  36. the judge says:

i was reaserching something about acutain and came across this site. i only read a few responses before i felt compelled to add my personal experience. i am 27, white female living in California.my acne timeline looks like this. No acne through puberty, only every now and then at the end of high school did i get a bad period related “zit” ,you know the one that make you look like ruhdolph. i started to get frustrating breakouts when i was about 24. i started using proactive and thought i found something that worked and it did keep things under controll for about a year.then my breakouts went into this current stage of full torture and frustration! my skin would go from being clear to a full breakout mostly around my chin & nose. and what was so frustrating was they didnt pop and heal. they would start like red whelts then just get bigger untill they would form a little white underskin spot in the center.(about 3or4 days into breakout)i would always say a little silent prayer that it would just pop then heal up and be gone the next day. well soetimes the tiny white spot would pop and ouze out white puss but the bump would not go down it would only look worse and more red. in the next week to follow i would treat the specific sore as best i could. washing my face regularly. applying $$$ acne meds. trying weird home remidies, toothpaste, hydrogen peroxide, neosporne, even bleach! there would normally be about 3 of these and five or so smaller ones that didnt ouze just looked bump and red. these could be kinda covered up with makeup but the other ones just made the makeup cake over them and look grose. so covering up the big sores became almost impossible. by the time they would all heal up, and yes they came and went in a team always in and out on the same day no matter how bad they were or where they were in their breakout, and my skin would heal the scare they left behind(about3days) i would be excited to dress up and go out. sometimes i would get that chance but most of the time the cycle would be starting again. i decided to take it beyond acne and realized that it must be representing something deeper going on in my body the acne was just a side effect of the “dis-ease” in my body somewhere. i went to dr’s, derms, therapy, counceling, sepcialists you name it, to try and find what could be going on. i would always feel less hopefull when i left. what really made me have to take notice and change my life trying to deal with this problem was the RASH AND HAIR IRRITATION. i started to develpoe red itchy eyes, nose, upper lip.i started to grow long black hairs out of my chin & neck. then i started to notice that was where my next big breakout would occure. so slowly i started to associate the hair follicle i pulled out with the zit that took weeks to heal. so i made a lifestyle change. i went on a cangi-gone natural cleanze to eleminate alkaline my body thinking this was why i was having acne and what looked like alergic reactions. that didnt work. so after years in a last hope, i went to the derm that gave me acutain or for me ISOTONIN. she first put me on three months of tetracyclin penicilin she said i got rid of my topical acne but i would have to go on acutain to get rid of my nodular acne. she also gave me triamcinolone acetonide cream for my rash on my neck and locoid lipocream for around my eyes the neck cream works in one application when i get dry or itchy there i just apply and its back to feeling good. the eyes take a little more but are getting better, less reactions.MY EXPERINCE ON ISOTONIN.blood test cleared, my colesterol was a little high but was ok anyway.had asked if any drugs would be harmful such as alcohol. response was no because alcohol is the only one effecing the liver. my first month was 40 one a day at night. i noticed a bupm under my skin on my neck above my collar bone. she said it looked like an inflamed lymph and that they can take weeks to heal so not to worry unless it got bigger.acne got worse. had really dry lips and rash would flare aroung eyes from time to time.month two 40 morning and night. after about two weeks face was looking good i could feel it was not irritated or itchy my hair was not sinsitive didnt grow as much black hair. overall felt great. i was having super fragile skin, any little scratch would turn into a big red scatch and would take a long time to heal.then i started to get the back pain and joint pain. stiffness nobody would be willing to go through unless you knew it would get rid of the acne! it got so bad i went to the chiropracter. i showed him the bump on my neck above my collar bone and he refered me to a dr. he did xrays, ultrasounds, tissue biopsy. and to STOP taking acutain. i am now being told i have either cancer or a sever infection. i am waiting on medical to go into effect and i will be having the lymph node removed to deterime what i have. it is still unclear what effect if any acutain(isitonin) has had in this development. since i have been waiting about a month i have been off acutain. my lump has gone down and the acne is back and the rash above my eyes is back no more joint pain though. i wish i could still take it so the acne would stay gone. so just wanted to share this cuz its hard to decide if its really bad for you or not. i think everyone even the people that have had good results from it would agree that it isnt good for you but when you have battled sever acne and no longer want to live cuz it has devistated your self esteme for so long you have become someone you have to be just to hide your acne(ya,self esteem, it fucks with your head that bad)then the side effects and 50/50 chance it might be bad for you in the long run dosent look so bad. i dont think acutain is the sorce of this problem for me but i do think it activated so to speak whatever the bump is. also i think the bump will be related to why i have acne in the first place.

  37. Daniel says:

I very much hope that ab is not a doctor. Because her post was embarrassing, uninformed, and well, EMBARRASSING!

Accutane damn near ruined my life. I was a normal college freshman, and the following winter I was put on accutane to treat my facial and back acne. I spiraled into a psychotic depression, developed body dysmorphia, cataracts, liver pain, and every other mental problem you can think of.

Thank God I am off.. I almost killed myself. Five years later, my skin is unable to produce it’s own oil correctly and I have liver problems. If I were able to sue for this, I would. Thankfully, I believe accutane has been pulled off the market.

There is a spot in hell for those pushing these poisons at people’s expense. You’ll get your judgement.

  38. Ronald says:

“Accutane damn near ruined my life. I was a normal college freshman, and the following winter I was put on accutane to treat my facial and back acne. I spiraled into a psychotic depression, developed body dysmorphia, cataracts, liver pain, and every other mental problem you can think of. ”

Man, you sound almost exactly like my story. I was in college in 1999 when I finally decided to get rid of acne the medical way. I was started on benzoyl peroxide, then minocyn, and finally a short course of RoAccutane, which stopped in about march or april 1999. ONE month later I suddenly developed kidney stones.Out of the blue. The emergency doctor injected me with diclofenac (which stopped the pain), and gave me a diclofenac suppository in case I had more pain. I had, a few weeks later, and used the suppository. Little did I know that diclofenac damages the mucal lining of the anus, and within 2 days I started having pain at that exact location, which has developed into anal fistula, which I now have had for the past 11 years.

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, 10 months after taking the roaccutane, and my life has almost completely been destroyed by this drug. I was in college, and now I am pisspoor, on welfare and I live under truly miserable conditions. Thankfully I still have a small bit of a social life.

Almost every improvement I have made in my medical condition comes from my own learning and my own initiative.

In all these 11 years I have NEVER had a food allergy test done, despite asking the doctors many times to perform one. Only one year ago I finally figured out I have a problem with lactose because the bacteria in my gut produce a lot of gas when I eat anything with a lot of lactose.
This reduced the gut cramps, the bloated feeling, and I now no longer have to run to the toilet 20 times a day because of the urge that those cramps bring.

I also found out myself I have anemia. This would have been bloody obvious to any doctor had he bothered to take my chronic exhaustion and my very pale complexion into account. The diagnosis is only one bloody bloodtest away. I figured this out on the internet finally, and had the test performed not by my specialist but my normal practicioner. I am know on iron supplements and folic acid, and lo and behold: I biked 55 km in 3 hours this summer, my pale complexion is gone, I am actually doing fitness, and even my diarrhea is lessened dramatically.

I also cured my acne. Myself. This year. After 25 years of this shit, and using every possible thing people have come up with. By simple oil pulling with sunflower oil. I have used: Clearasil, washing my face 5 times a day with soap, benzoyl peroxide, minocyn, roaccutane, clean sheets and pillows every day, intense zinc supplementation (which needs to be done with care) collodial silver and a few other things I’ve forgotten. The cheapest, simplest cure of them all cured it. It’s not been back.

The basic premise of what causes acne is pretty straightforward; just don’t expect to hear it from your doctors.

-acne is bacterial overgrowth inside your skin, and the immune respone to it is pus. Bacterial overgrowth is possible because of compromised immune function of your skin. Immune function is controlled through hormones. During puberty your hormone levels surge and one part of this is decreased immune function in your skin, ergo, acne results. After puberty your hormone levels drop, and the acne usually goes away.

Now, there are quite a few toxins in your environment that mimic hormones when they are in your body. One obvious one is dioxins. I connected dioxins to acne the moment I realized that a) dioxins are chlorine containing compounds and b) there is an industrial-accident type of acne caused by extreme exposure to chlorine. Very vicious, google it.

So, here you got this non-stop environmental exposure to dioxins and other hormone-like chemicals that slowly build up during life, and some of the toxins reside in your skin. Because these are fat-soluble compounds your body can’t dump them as well as water-soluble toxins, so they keep sticking.

Basically, you not only got the depressed immune function from your own hormones, but also those of the hormone-mimicking toxins that reside in your skin. That’s why some people suffer more than others: not everybody has been poisoned equally.

Simple solution: detoxify. The way you do so is completely up to yourself. I did it by oil pulling, and it cleared my acne in about 7 months.

-I just explained to you why stress also causes acne to flare up, because stress is well known to depress immune function
-I just explained to you why there is truth in the myth that masturbation can give you acne, because during sex, more hormones are released that depress immune function (it is one of the core functions of those hormones, because it makes sex more like to result in pregnancy)
-Obviously, women have the same problem once a month, again because of the immune suppressing function of hormones
-depression is an extreme chronic form of stress, ergo, more acne
-I also just explained why some people get acne from skin care and beauty products: some of the chemicals in them are immune function surpressing…if you still have acne you should avoid all products containing chlorine compounds.

Now here is how (ro)accutane REALLY works to clear up your acne:

-Bacteria need food. The oil your skin produces to keep it healthy and moisturized is that food. Normally, your immune function is balanced enough to prevent bacterial overgrowth so there isn’t a problem, or only temporarily.
Accutane clears up acne because it removes the food, by removing the foodsource. It does this by killing you. To be more precise, by killing the glands in your skin that produce the oil. It also kills a lot of other parts of you, but hey, Roche doesn’t care to tell you that. More fun treatments to profit from afterwards.

So…after a course of accutane you have two outcomes concerning your acne:
    A) enough of your glands have been killed, and there is no longer enough food for the bacteria to let their numbers get out of hand
    B) Not enough of your glands have been killed to reduce the amount of food to such low levels, and the acne returns.

These are the two possible outcomes concerning acne only.
For the rest of your body, accutane acts basically as a chemical weapon. It kills mucus producing cells in your intestinal lining, which if done enough, creates the long list of IBD problems that accutane is known to cause. It does something similar with the lining cells of your joints, which results in joint pain and arthritis. Many of the other problems that this drug is known to cause are more complex, and they are invariably interrelated.

Total cost of curing myself with oil pulling of acne: under 10 dollars. Cost to society because my destroyed life on welfare because of roaccutane: 200.000 dollars.
The income I have missed because of this drug: probably about 350.000 dollars. Missed productivity because of this drug: Probably a million dollars.

If ab is a doctor then he/she is a fucking retard. I am no doctor but I am CLEARLY more well informed. I could have been a doctor now, if another doctor hadn’t killed my chances for ever to continue college.
I no longer trust any medicine my doctor prescribes me. I check it out first.
This is not because doctors are evil, but because they’re only form of information is usually from the manufacturer. I actually learned to decipher the scientific papers in medical journals (which considering I’m college educated isn’t such a big surprise really) and I read up on ANY substance that gets in my way. I don’t trust doctors anymore because they’ve destroyed my life. “First, do no harm”–remember?

    So, in short:
-acne can be solved by detoxing the hormone-mimicking crap away
-accutane tries to solve it by killing parts of you selectively
-your doctors are not aware of this. They aren’t evil, just indoctrinated to think in one (stupid) way.

I just told you EXACTLY what acne is…how it is cured…in what way accutane works….how devastating it is for the rest of your body….and how little the doctors know. For free. (I wouldn’t mind donations if you were helped by this btw)
And no, I have no inside information from Roche, so they can’t sue me for disclosing confidential information. Too bad suckers…I have a brain, it still works, and I figured it out myself.

Just try detoxing for a year, BEFORE going to the doctor. There are a gazillion ways to detox to find on the internet….I just tried one that seemed immensely cheap, simple, and safe, and it worked like a charm. I have a simple rule about miracle cures on the internet: If you have to pay to find out what it is, it is NOT a miracle cure….usually not even a treatment.

If you try this, and you find after a year that it worked just as good for you, contact me.

Now that I finally figured out that accutane is the direct causal agent of the disease I have, I can start researching how to revert the damage.

I totally agree with the post above: if ab is a doctor for real, then he/she is a !@#$% retard! THIS IS NOT, I REPEAT, NOT A SAFE DRUG!!! Accutane certainly cleared up my skin when I took for 6 months in 1999. One of the disgusting side effects is sexual dysfunction, and this shit ruined my sexual sensation by 100%. If doctor ab just engages in a tiny bit of research, thinks outside the pharmaceutical company’s box, engages in a tiny bit of free thinking and does some online research, he/she will find THOUSANDS of website discussing how Accutane has ruined people’s lives. AND, the scary thing is, most of these people don’t have symtoms until AFTER they get off Accutane. So you get off feeling pleased that you had no side effects, but boom, a few weeks or years later they will hit you. Make no mistake, you may be on this drug and thinking it’s a miracle (just like I did), to years later realize that you are suffering the same kind of strange illnesses as other accutane sufferers. Total loss of sexual function being on of them. And yes, I have read thousands of anecdotes by people having exactly this experience. Who the hell do they accept to medical school? Book smart people who are good at memorizing but can’t think for themselves. I used to think that doctors were smart. Now I just think they are pathetic and I use them for blood tests, and I role my eyes in secret every time they come up with some bullshit answer.

Oh, I would say that you should take Accutane in one exceptional situation: if acne has cause you to become suicidal. If you have planned your own suicide and you seriously intend to pursue it, then take Accutane. Then in the future, years down the road, when your health is destroyed and you can no longer function, then you’ll look back and thank Accutane for at least being alive, since without it you would have already committ suicide. But this is the ONLY exception.

I suffer from sever cystic acne. I have been to the doctors on and off for nearly 4 years now about my painful and uncomfortable problem. I have to avoid wearing white or light shirts because if i lean back on something i will make a mess of my shirt.
Some people do not have a choice.
I have tried changing my range of water intake from 1 Litre a day to upto 4 Litres a day.
I have tried cutting out gluten and dairy. I have tried eating more vegies. I have tried getting myself extremely fit through gym and also being lazy.
I have tried everything. I would love to know what these fools think bad acne is when they say they have cleared their bad acne up.
Also for the depression comments, my brother is the only one that has severe depression in my family. He got this from being picked on all his life for having the most disgusting skin. He took accutane and is still depressed a little every now and again but it is clear that he is alot happier now. He has no acne and this depression was present before he ever heard of accutane.
DO THIS DRUG! but only if you have severe acne (cystic)

I was on accutane years ago and have been having some health issues since. I will say that accutane was the best thing that ever happened to me, but I am beginning to question what condition my liver is in. I have just started researching some of the long term effects and I question what condition my body has been left in. I am constantly sick, and I am wondering if accutane may not be the culprit. I have read such things as hormonal imbalances, depression, lowered immune, etc, all of which I have been experiencing. Any comments or additional info would be appreciated!

THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. PLEASE, PLEASE read the above post by Ronald and heed the advice. For me, it was like my life story. I went through every acne antibiotics and treatments. Kept acne at bay, but would always come back. Was on Roaccutane 3 times. Eventually, dermatologist told me that I would have to treat acne like a disease which had to be treated for the rest of my life. However, on what I thought was a separate issue, my health started to deteriorate – always tired, no concentration, sinus problems. Went to doctors, hospitals for blood tests. Said I was fine. I was going out of my mind as I had difficulty carrying out my job. Did my own research through the internet. Bear in mind now that at the same time, I was constantly on antibiotics for acne. My symptoms led to me identifying a huge problem with Candida. It’s a yeast overgrowth and can be caused by antibiotics. And this is the same as the bacteria advised by Ronald. Google Candida, and it will open you up to a whole different world. You have to go on a diet, with various supplements that you will see easily if you google candida and cures. Also related are parasites, liver not functioning properly, toxins, colon cleansing, good/bad flora, probiotics. There is no doubt that it takes a long time to digest all there is to know. But it works. I went through it all – diet, supplements etc and I felt the best I have ever felt you years. My problem is that my liver functioning has been upset by the roaccutane in a bad way, and I don’t know if it will ever heal fully. Another important thing is the actual diet. People go on what they thing is a healthy diet, but don’t really know. You should not have anything that has sugar in it, including all fruit, a lot of vegetables. It is very restricted. Again, google it. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT ACNE HAS RUINED MY LIFE FOR 20 YEARS. ANTIBIOTICES/ROACCUTANE WORK IN SHORT TERM BUT HAVE LONG TERM DAMAGE. GOOGLE CANDIDA/PARASITES, AND IF YOU CURE THAT, YOU WILL GO A LONG WAY TO CURING ACNE. IT WORKED FOR ME. AND MY LIFE HAS STARTED AGAIN AT 35.

accutane does work i had greasy skin i tired everything natural and unnatural and nothing worked.I have been on accutane for 2 months and my skin is clear and not greasy. I think accutane worked for me because it reduce the oil in in my sebaceous gland because i had too much. My answer to this topic is accutane works different with everyone, some people have been cured with no long term affects, some are not cured and do have affects its just the way it is but if you have tried everything else and its not worked.Accutane is the key.

i used accutane for about a month. i went to the dermatologist because i had a lot of little blackheads and she told be to take accutane. some of my blackheads disappeared but were i did not have blackheads i started to have cysts and my face inflammed for 3 days. i now have an infection because of this drug. so i do not recomend accutane for anyone not even my enemies.

usin tane now. Pretty sure it’ll work, btw Elizabeth if u ever come back and read this comment your mother was not supposed to be using accutane while pregnant. U now have to sign papers saying u will not get pregnant while on this drug. She was warned.

I took accutane long ago and it helped my acne..for about a year, then after I stopped taking it, the acne slowly came back and is now worse than it ever was before. On top of that I’m pretty sure it damaged the way I think. I can’t say how but it made me feel empty the whole time I was taking it, and I don’t think I’ve ever recovered from that. Sadly now years later I’ve met others that have family members who have taken this drug and have gone permanently insane. One is stuck in a mental institution, the other tried to kill himself, threatened the doctor that put him on it, and eventually fled the country. I also came to find out I have epigenetic damage which causes a methylation block in my body. I always wondered how that happened, then recently scientists showed Accutane and a number of other drugs can do this..permanently! I wish I had known that natural vitamin A worked just as well. Thanks for this article, it’s well researched and thought out. As for the “doctors” that have posted on here, it would help if you actually read medical research and not just PR pamphlets handed to you by pharma sales reps while they take you out to eat.

I used accutane when I was in high school. It worked as everyone else says it will but I am now in college and my acne is back. I have had to revisit the dermatologist and be put on antibiotics. If i had realized more of the risks associated with accutane I would have chosen an alternative drug.

  50. Stu says:

I’m 31 and from the age of 13 to about 25 I suffered from acne on my face and back. It got progressively worse as I got older. It certainly wasn’t the worst I’ve seen – however for me, the sufferer, it was debilitating. I never looked people in the eyes, I avoided looking in mirrors or windows because I didn’t want to look at my own reflection, I often stayed indoors rather than go out and face people – to the point where I even took days off school and work ‘sick’ because of it. A complete lack of self-confidence. For ten years I tried all manner of treatments and medications, ‘natural’ and not so natural.
At desperation point I visited my doctor who recommended roaccutane. He gave me all the current advice and information about it and also suggested that I read up on it before making a decision so I went into it with my eyes wide open. Whether considered vain or not, it got to the point where I didn’t even want to contemplate a future blighted by acne and scarring.
I did two bouts of the drug over about 7 months with all the usual blood tests, and I kept a diary of any changes that I saw or felt taking place – positive or negative.
After a month there were significant improvements in my skin in all affected areas. I did get the flakey skin, dry lips, itchiness and painful nose tip with an increase in the number of nosebleeds for a brief period. By the end of taking the medication this had all pretty much gone, along with my acne – not a trace was left on my face, and only scarring on my back from old ‘acne wounds’ for which I was given a gel to treat.
Five years later and I’m still not suffering from any recognisable ill-effects of taking the drug and my skin is absolutely ‘normal’ – only the odd spot every now and then as everyone else gets, but completely clear of acne. I have ‘learnt’ to look in the mirror and other people’s eyes again and I had a renewed self-confidence which has remained in place. The other day a work colleague who had no idea I was ever on roaccutane was bemoaning her own recent outbreak and asked why her skin couldn’t be more like mine which suddenly made me remember that I was ever even taking the drug.
I do have a recently diagnosed liver condition which my sister who has never taken the drug or anything similar also has. If she did not also have the same condition I might naturally want to blame the drug for my condition – but the fact that she has it has made me think twice. I have recently also discovered that my best mate took roaccutane as a teenager. At the time he suffered from depression which he blamed entirely on the drug. With over ten years of hindsight he now labels the depression as teenage angst and questions whether he was likely to have suffered from it at that age even without the medication.
While I’m certainly not suggesting that accutane is right for everyone and that a fully informed choice based on individual needs and preferences is best, it has undoubtedly dealt with a lot of my issues and most importantly made it possible for me to feel free and live my life – my acne is no longer the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing at night – in fact I no longer think about it at all! I couldn’t put a price on this feeling and the difference it has made. Whether I suffer any long-term damage further down the road remains to be seen. Although by that point I’m sure that it will be hard to tell whether it was caused by the drug or not – it could be any number of things which cause future illnesses which I might naturally want to blame on the drug.
Yes I’m sure the ‘nay-sayers’ will try and point out the errors of my ways and my ‘woeful ignorance’ in not following a path that meant I might not damage my body in the long term, but for the last five years I’ve been a happier, more confident and more fulfilled person. After the years of despair that acne brought me, the simple fact remains that this drug has actually changed my life for the better – and I currently remain thankful that I made the informed decision to go with it.
