Blackhead Removal
What works, what doesn’t work…
First let me make it completely clear…blackhead removal will only be a temporary fix until you correct the underlying cause of blackheads.
So before you really get serious about removing blackheads PLEASE checkout my report on the TRUE cause of blackheads. That report gives you the secrets you’ve been looking for lasting blackhead prevention.
Blackhead removal that doesn’t work
Blackhead removers and blackhead extractors: You’ve seen all the various blackhead removers, and blackhead extractors you’ll find on the web.
And I’m telling you, that 90% of blackhead extractors and blackhead removers will damage your skin causing more harm then good.
The rest just won’t work at all. For the most part, don’t bother with blackhead removers and blackhead extractors.
Various “vacuum” devices like IGIA: You may see various “vacuum” devices like the IGIA’s “Pore Cleanser” that’s suppose to “suck” out blackheads. This doesn’t work either…Don’t waste your money.
I still can’t believe the can sell these things. You will notice in their sales literature that they are careful not to say “blackhead removal” (although they imply it), because they know good and well that it doesn’t remove blackheads.
Various blackhead removal gels or creams: Of all the various “blackhead creams” or gels on the market I have yet to find any that are very effective for blackhead removal. And most aggravate the #@$% out of your skin because of the harsh ingredients they use.
Your best blackhead removal options for at home treatment
Well the bad news is that even the best blackhead removal methods are not that effective. I’ve come to the conclusion that the only effective blackhead treatment is INTERNAL. I explain in much more detail in the Acne Cure E-Tutorial.
Check it out.
However, here are some of the better blackhead removal options for temporary symptoms…
A mild exfoliater combined with low potency benzoyl peroxide
Mild scrubs and exfoliaters like alpha hydroxy fruit acids will clear away any dead skin cells and “expose” the blackhead.
Then the oxygen in a LOW POTENCY benzoyl peroxide will help to breakup and clear the blackhead.
The problem is most people way overuse the benzoyl peroxide, or use benzoyl peroxide that is too strong.
And they “over scrub” or over exfoliate their skin. Don’t make this mistake. Use the AHA’s every 3 days or so, and a mild scrub in general no more then once very 2 days.
Use it once every 3 days or so, not more then every other day, because it’s pretty strong.
In regards to benzoyl peroxide as not being a natural acne treatment…please understand…I’m not a big fan of benzoyl peroxide. However, if used right it’s one of the better options for short-term alleviation of blackhead symptoms.
Many people use tea tree oil combined with aloe vera gel for a natural acne treatment instead of benzoyl peroxide. And if it works for you then I’m all for it. However, in my experience with blackheads…you need the oxygen found in a low potency benzoyl peroxide to be effective.
Pore strips
You’ve seen them advertised everywhere. The pore strips that “glue” to blackheads. You pull away the strip and “presto”…no more blackheads. Well, that’s an exaggeration to say the least.
This option for blackhead removal is “fair” at best. But outside of removal via a Clinical Aesthetician it’s one of the better options without too much risk of damage to your skin.
I know, I know…they generally only remove the “top” part of the blackhead…But in all reality, outside of INTERNAL blackhead treatment, you don’t have a lot of options.
Be sure NOT to use them on any damaged skin or open acne…just on the blackheads. And DON’T overuse them. Overuse will aggravate your skin.
The only LASTING blackhead solution is INTERNAL
Like I said, there really aren’t a whole lot of effective external blackhead removal options. The problems that lead to blackheads are internal. Until you correct the internal problems that are causing your blackheads all the blackhead removal methods in the world will do no good. The blackheads will simply return.
Lasting blackhead prevention is one of the hardest things to do, however it can be done. The way to do it is to balance hormones and purify the blood.
How?
Take the Acne Cure E-Tutorial to find out how.

hi.
i am a 12 year old girl who is probably going through hormonal change. my skin isn’t terrible but isn’t perfect. i do not think that my type of skin actually fits in with any skin type. my skin is quite pores, blackheads on my nose, white heads on my chin, the OCCASIONAL spot (not prone to spots), blothy pooress cheecks… i do not consider myself an acne girl as i know i am not. i am fine with skin care products, and mostly go for sensetive as harsher treatments irritae my skin and make more redness and rough patches. I’ve been on so many webistes and have spent quite a small fortune on skin care products. i wanted to go to the doctors and ask for a percribed cream that could clear up my skin… i mean, there must be some savious to hormonal skin change???? musn’t there???????? you probably don’t have the answer as nobody does…. but here goes…
is there an actual skin product, safe for 12 year olds, that will clear up my skin? please help and reccommend if you can.
also… i’m not really a routine girl, but if you know of something that’ll work, then i’ll be more than happy to stick to it.
thank you soooo much for reading this long thing!!!
Darcy
Sorry Darcy, but there isn’t a single product to cure acne. The problem is internal. And it takes multi-steps to correct the core internal causes that lead to acne.
You might want to checkout the report on the true cause of acne.
Sorry, me again, but I haven’t got acne. My skin in total is fine, i’m just a drama queen. I was asking whether there is a skin cream that would create a smoother, more perfect skin.
You must have misunderstood me.
Can you recconmend a cream or wash face thing that works quite well?
(Being srious here and not trying to lie my way out of it, I actually DO NOT, 100% negative, do not never have or will never have acne.)
Use what works for your skin. However, understand, acne, blackheads, bad skin cannot be fixed with any topical cream. It can only be fixed by addressing the internal factors.
this doesnt even help! use products like clean and clear warming daily pore scrub to help because pore strips will just damage or tear the skin. Trust me you dont want to wait and find out. (like my friend)
oh ask you should try their routine thing. They ask you your skin type and problem it worked great for me…
There is something similiar to pore strips Laura that helps with black and white heads. Like the post says, it is only temp solution, but it isn’t as harsh as Biore strips
i am thinking about trying proactive, even if i empty the bottle i can get a full refund so i have nothing to lose. i am a 13 year old girl i have blackheads on my nose and lately i have noticed the odd one in other places!! i have had about three pimple so far so im not too bad, but i would love to get rid of these black heads if possible and that proactive stuff has tons of success stories so wish me luck!! lol
im a 13yr old girl and i have had acne for 1 in a half years and im sick and tired of them…out of all my friends im the only on and i need help i tried clean and clear, proactive, clear skin, mary kay, and more it works for a while then i start breaking out even more what is the best routine and product to get clear skin???but the problem i can’t spent money can anypne give me REALLY GOOD advice???thank you.
TAMMY<3
im also 13 and im sick of cleansers that never work, i have oily skin and one cleanser actually dried out my skin ive got blackheads over my nose cheeks chin and forehead and i just want them gone can anybody PLEAAASE tell me any products or ways to get rid of black heads…. i have one
Lemon juice: i had a big blackhead on my nose i used lemon juice day and night for a week and i squeezed it out…….
dont squeeze too hard it will wreck your skin
DARCY: try using a mousturiser to make it softer or use cocoa butter
for other people
dont use it if you have oily skin
but as i said b4 if its dried out in places its OBVIOUSLY ok to use a little bit
Eat plenty of whole food (vegetables, fruit) and drink lots of water. Exercise. Don’t eat processed foods, especially not microwave meals and also cut down on alcohol. Dont use harsh face washes/cleansers available at supermarkets and chemists.Visit the beauty counters in dept stores. Liz Earle is particularly good and was created with acne prone skin in mind. Dont exfoliate too much (once a week will do). Dont use body cream on your face, find one specially for your facial skin, preferably one that hasn’t got oil in as this can clog up your pores, unless specifically created not to (e.g Decleor products).
Try to sit in a steam room or sauna once a week for a short time or use a home facial steam system. Dont get too close to the steam though or else it will be too harsh and leave your face red.
Hope this helps! x
P.s
Oh and don’t ever pick..just leave alone!
Wrap an ice cube in tissue or a cloth and put on spot, this will really reduce the swelling.

i have 4 or 3 blackheads around my nose wat can i do to get rid of them ??? please help mee
I have loads like Paris, all over my nose, cheeks, chin. I cant get rid of them! All my mates don’t have them. But I suppose it might be because of my age (13) and also my parents had them at my age too but not as many as me! I think I have oily skin but I’m not sure. I just want to get rid of them! Also I cant buy products because I’m shy like that and because I don’t get pocket money. Please help me!
Dear admin
I have heard rave reviews of Mario Badescu’s Silver Powder for blackheads. I have been on debate over to buy it or not. If you could try it and write a review I would be an extremly happy little person.
All of you have acne except for the one who has 3 blackheads. I have suffered with acne for over ten years. You need to see a doctor. And never take oral treatment for I am a witness to someone who has and commited suicide. If you have no blackheads no whiteheads and no pimples, do not see a doctor. But, if you have even one of these you have acne and should see a doctor. It may get better as in my case after over ten years I am not using topicals anymore just using Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser 2x a day. Hope that helps. P.S. Best make-up I’ve ever used and didn’t clog me was BareMinerals.
Just good old fashioned witch hazel helps. Many of the spot creams dry out your skin and makes your face produce more oil. Witch hazel just cleanses out and can’t harm the skin. Just check with a chemist, they’re usually really helpful
Hey, I’m fourteen, and I don’t really have acne problems, I just have some pores I’d like a little less large around my nostrils. And I’ve also got barely noticeable blackheads on my chin? I can’t even be positive they are blackheads, they’re not black….but you get my point. I was wondering how I might be able to make these small bumps disappear? I’m afraid to try topical strips because like i said, I’m not even sure they are blackheads, and that could possibly damage skin. I have a hard time with benzyl peroxide because it usually causes redness and irritation on my face. Can you reccomend some antidotes or some steps to preventing these please? I’d really appreciate it.
Hi,
I have had black-heads since I was 13, I am 19 now and they still havent budged, I have tried clean and clear, loreal, and nothing seems to have worked. Can anyone provide help?
welllllllllllll i have blackheads and i amso worried about it please help to cure it please……………..
I wouldn’t say those vacuums don’t work at all. I have acne caused by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and often get really PAINFUL pimples that stay trapped under the skin no matter what I do. I can scrub them, put mud mask on them – even poke them with a pin to try and make it easier to pop them – and they just won’t go away.
Get one of those cheap vacuum thingies though and the constant pressure after about 30 seconds brings them to a head.
Especially good for those zits that crop up on my neck.
The only medicine that works internally for me is $400 a bottle and my HMO won’t pay for them. (I’m switching to a PPO at the first of 2011 though.)
When you’re desperate you’ll try anything.
Yes, they are cheaply made. Yes, they do break down after so many uses. But I have sat there watching in a mirror as the pus comes out of my pores. I wouldn’t recommend them for long term use, but when you’re in pain and desperate and you can’t afford the medicine, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.
ya ! u r absolutely right .. i actually i have recently used clean and clear for removing blackheads but it was also of no use….. Now please tell what should i do. Infact the strip was also damaging my skin…
Help me now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi! i’m a 13 year old girl who has acne for 2 years now. I am very tired of it. I tried everything, i mean it everything. It works for a little while then the products lose there affect. Should i try stronger products? because I usually go with the sensitive skin products. I use to have them only on my forehead but now i have acne on my cheeks and nose. Also under my bottom lip like lots of little black dots(are these blackheads?). And I wish the pores on my nose were smaller(what’s with everyone having big pores?). Also like in between my eyebrows there is black dots that refuse to pop so what should i do? like everyone else i’m desperate, mad and sad.

Hi I have small blackheads on my nose and I want them GONE but I’ve tried tons of things and products wasted my money and haven’t gotten ANY good results!! P.S I’m 11 years old
use sandlewood powder with rose water and milk and make paste and apply this on face,it realy works
no offence, working on the “internal” issue rather it’s the amount of time it takes for the results to be seen.
Hey,
I’m 28 and have dealt with acne since I was 12. The rest of my acne has left, but the blackheads remain. They pop up all over my nose, sides of my nose and mouth, chin and forehead. This is how I get them to go away, at home, without spending a ton (and it works).
Buy Bentonite clay in a health food store (it may be hard to find, but it’s cheap and worth it). Pick up some apple cider vinegar (preferable organic, since it’s going on your skin) and mix the 2 into a paste. Put this all over where you have blackheads. It will sting and tingle alittle and your skin will get a bit red, but it goes away right after and isn’t a big deal at all. Leave the paste on for about 15-20 minutes. Wash off with warm water. Get a Biore pore nose/face strip. Use the same as you normally do. Except this time, when you take of the strip, IT WILL HAVE GOTTEN EVERY SINGLE BLACKHEAD. It will work exactly the way the manufacturer wished it worked. It’s all natural, it’s cheap, you can do it at home, and it works 100% everytime.
Im 14 and i have somewhat bad acne and blackheads on the sides of my nose and i heard someone say alcohol will work?? at least on acne would that help or damage?

hi everyone, you know the really best thing for washing away black heads, is not too eat oily foods, washing your face every night with mild soap always, and the most important, you should wash your face with hot water, especially your nose, and not putting anything on your nose that doesn’t fit at your age.
I’ve tried all of these and it really works, just keep trying these too , and after a year, you will have the best skin that you wished for,
I use an exfoliating pad with clean & clear that has benzoyl peroxide. Then I moisturize with a facial lotion with low potency salicylic acid. I drink lots of water now, too. Since I started doing those things, I’ve stopped having breakouts. Haven’t had severe skin problems since 7th grade, and I’m 18 now. Good luck, new teenagers. It only sucks for a little while. Avoid heavy make-up and too much sugar, fat, and grease. It makes you break out like crazy.
I’ve seen almost all this stuff Before and tryed like half of Them None of them worked 4 me i just NEED somthing that works That is quick and simple and CHEEP im 13 i’ve been bullied about it 4 like 4 ys i hve naturally massive pores and blackheads if you will run in my family please get back to me with anything tht might help thanks Emma xx

I am a 57 year old woman and I am desperate. My right cheek is just one enourmous mass of blackheads. Even on photographs you can see the black “island’ on my face. Have had a few treatments when the blackheads were squeeze out, only to return with a vengenance. Please help
Exfoliates can only work so far, there are deeper blackheads that do require, pulling the skin and squeezing. There are guides on the internet for that. I have tremendous ammounts, never knowing how I’ve found that dietary changes are essentially, as well as regular skin care (cleaning, steaming, using exfolients, squeezing and strips) have managed to gain mine under control, the best solution. Avoid sugars. I have never, really, used commercial products, and there are great natural solutions that are cheaper, and from experience, much more viable solutions. Prepare a hot cloth and clean your skin daily, research diets, create a mixture of olive oil (the molecules are great for your skin), honey (contains many benficial vitamamins such as Vitamin K, and contains nutrients that aid to collagen production), and sugar, all are exfoliants, though raw and brown are supposedly the best. After applying this and scrubbing gently, many blackheads may remove themself. There is a technique to scrubbing
i use biore strips n st, ives scrub occasionally depending on my skin and it only helps a little. biore can get expensive after like the 10th pack, never ending cycle so i don’t recommend it. What did work for me though was this bottle of liquid that (tasted yucky btw) cleans your blood or INTERNAL system totally herbal. my dorm girls in jr. high drank 1 tbsp b4 bedtime every night and it worked. soon my mom bought me 1 and it cleared my skin didn’t have problem with acne or blackhead. 4got the name, diff country .. i quit after my skin got better n then da taste didn’t seem worth tolerating anymore.
